Ahh, I'm back! And I've finished my work experience! I have to say it was really good, but I just got so exhausted and there were times when I had nothing to do :P But what I did was really fun, I learnt so much :)
One of the things I did was speak to a lovely french machinist who showed me the different seams and hems. And he gave me some fabric samples to keep with them on, and so I have some BEAUTIFUL duchess satin. I've never been a huge fan of satin, if I'm honest, but I think this is just gorgeous, and such a rich colour. So I really want to make something out of it. Basically, any ideas of what to make, anyone? I'm open to any suggestions :)
How about a blouse with a neck tie? XOXO
ReplyDeleteI love the colour, it looks gorgeous. I'm pretty rubbish at sewing so I would probably do something boring like use some of it as a hairband/headscarf!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was just thinking that I wanted to have someone make me a blue silk dress...with a gold border, to look like those dresses that waitresses in Thai restaurants wear.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely bit of fabric...good luck with it.
That color is one of my favorites right now! can't wait to see what you do w/ it :)
ReplyDeletei love most to wear satin when i'm going to bed. but only not on cold weather :)
ReplyDeleteOh you're studying sewing, dressmaking or something?? Cool, me too :D I'm going to start my first work practise in the end of November, sewing theatre costumes! I'm so excited :D x
ReplyDeleteThese would look amazing as a little scarf tied into a bow. :)
