And its results day......

So, today came at last.... I'm not in year 11 yet, so I didn't have that many results, but but I must admit I was SO SO SO incredibly nervous. I'm extremely embarrassed to say I started crying before I even got the results, I just really didn't know what to expect! And now I can say I am so impossibly happy with them! I got:

GCSEs:
Latin - A
IT - Distinction

GCSE modules:
Physics - A
Chemistry - A*
Biology - A*
Maths - A*
DT - A*

I am so happy, I worked so hard and I'm so pleased it has paid off! I hope anyone else with results did brilliantly! :)

So, that aside, I thought I might share some of the lovely dolls' house photos I took the other day at the dolls' house shop for my art project, because the attention to detail is amazing, and I just think they're beautiful :) If you didn't know the scale, you would probably think they were actual size rooms! I hope you enjoy :)

Dolls' Houses

I love dolls' houses. Aren't they beautiful? All my life I have been fascinated by them. I have video of me at about two getting furniture for my first ever dolls' house. I wasn't a messy sort of child, I was very very very neat. I laid everything out perfectly, and you can see me adjusting the position of the pillows very very slightly, just so it was perfect. Nothing much has changed! Haha, I still tidy it up sometimes. :P

I'm trying to find a way of incorporating them into my prep for my art gcse mock as I have the idea of making a little room, about the size of a large shoebox, with everything in it, but miniature and made by me :) So for prep I've been taking some pictures of my dolls' house and I popped along to the dolls' house shop near me and took some photos.

This is what I wore on my way. I have no idea what compelled me to take this photo, I guess the sun came out and I felt inspired :P It's quite an un-me-ish outfit, but I thought it worked and its always great to try something new :) This maxi dress is from New Look, AAAND in the sale :D £14 from £30, I think. I love a good bargain, I do! And the bag is from my uncle, and the worst thing is I can't remember where its from! I know its from some of his foreign travels, but I can't for the live of me remember where! :( It's one of those things that I put in my wardrobe and retrieved recently and thought, yeah, I like this! So this is its first appearance with me :)

Holiday!

Ahh, you must forgive me! I have not blogged for like, ever! I've neglected my blog again :'( I've been on holiday in France! Which was so good, but now I need to tend to my blog :)

While I was out there, my mum was trying to immerse me in the language, suggesting I read books on french history, which I erm, refused. So our compromise was french fashion and beauty magazines :D which are basically the same ones as in Britain but translated :P And I have seen some BEAUTIFUL things which I'm going to show you.

These pictures are all scanned in from the August edition of Glamour, en francais :)

I officially love this. I just, adore fifties fashion. This is just so beautiful, so elegant, so feminine. VERY flattering, chic, glamourous, and just one of my favourite things ever. LOVE LOVE LOVE. It reminds me of when I was younger and spent all my time drawing princess dresses with tight bodices and huge skirts. So uhh, if anyone happens to have 2734 euros spare to give me to buy this outfit, then I'd appreciate it. Hahaa, I can always dream... :P

I never thought I'd actually like a all-in-one knitted ski-suit. But somehow, I love this! Knitwear is coming back and this Dolce and Gabbana jumpsuit just does it aaall for me. I adore all those patterns and the cute little reindeer :)
Gorgeous boots as well. AND it looks so amazingly warm. It's such a nice cut and that model looks amazing.

This denim dress is so so so nice. I love this whole denimy trend at the moment, but my only problem is they've made some lovely washed out denim tier summer dresses, and they look great but the very thought of wearing a denim dress on a hot day just puts me off. So I really like how this dress has more of an autumn/winter look and I think I might want this one too. But I don't think I'll ever be able to rustle up 600 euros to pay for it xD
I also love how confused that guy looks by her hand...

My friend Anna is pretty much in love with Emma Watson, and I must say when I happened across this picture of her in my magazine, I think I might just love her too! She looks so so so so so so so so so so so so so pretty. I don't particularly like her dress, but her shoes! And just HER! :O

So there we go. Just a few things I'm loving right now, I hope you like them too! :D

Fabric!

Ahh, I'm back! And I've finished my work experience! I have to say it was really good, but I just got so exhausted and there were times when I had nothing to do :P But what I did was really fun, I learnt so much :)

One of the things I did was speak to a lovely french machinist who showed me the different seams and hems. And he gave me some fabric samples to keep with them on, and so I have some BEAUTIFUL duchess satin. I've never been a huge fan of satin, if I'm honest, but I think this is just gorgeous, and such a rich colour. So I really want to make something out of it. Basically, any ideas of what to make, anyone? I'm open to any suggestions :)

These are the pieces I have, the biggest is 45x50cm and the smaller ones are about 18x54cm, with seams down the centre. So if you have any ideas, be they clothes, accessories, decorations... ANYTHING at all, I would love to hear your ideas :) THANK YOU! :D

Work Experience

Hey!
I feel I've been neglecting my blog! so here I am on my lovely shiny new iPod (see post below) to write you lots of boring writing, sorry about that :(

So, the reason I've been so busy with non-bloggish things is that I'm on work experience! Which is completely stealing all of my energy! I think I'm rather glad that true working life is a long way off :P

I've been at Aurora Fashions, they own Warehouse, Coast, Karen Millan, Oasis and some other ones I can't remember haha :P and I've been specialising in the Coast part. The whole building is just amazing! It is SO posh inside! The whole top floor where i have my little temporary desk (with an amazing view over London) is open plan and is full of computer islands, sewing machines, beautiful prom dresses hanging everywhere, rolls of fabric and spools of thread and mannequins :) it is a haven of clothing beauty!

Yesterday I went to this meeting where they put these dresses on a model and make TINY alterations, they are so precise, there is actually no room for imperfection! It just killed though to see them chopping off and repinning the strap to be sent back and modified on a beautiful prom dress worth about £300 because it was slightly at the wrong angle! Amazing! And today I used this machiney thing to cut out a pattern for a Karen Millan shirt, which will be sewn up by a machinist and used to decide whether the fabric is good enough to use to sell. So, rather exciting :P It's amazing to learn all about the whole process of making a garment. I'm having a really good time, the only thing I'd say is that the day is SO LONG for me to get used to!

If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask! And sorry for all this writing, I'll try to put some more pictures next time! :P

HOT HOT HOT

It's getting HOT! :D

Ahh, today I finally got round to buying that GORGEOUS berry shade of Barry M nail varnish in the ice cream range. It's been taunting me for ages on the internet but today was the first time I actually found it in the shop. So naturally I snapped it up straight away :P and I LOVE IT! (and only £2.50!)

mmmmmmm :)

Also did some amazing sale shopping today, got a beautiful blue dress with big floral print on it from Dorothy Perkins. Which I love. And, even better - reduced from £20 to £7!

And to finish, some lovely £2 aviators from Primark! VERY summery :)

OH AND! VERY EXCITING NEWS!
Yesterday I got a delivery failure notice in the post, saying I now had to go and pick up a parcel from the post office collection point. But, I honestly had no idea what it was! I opened the letter that came with it, turns out I had won an 8GB ipod touch and £100 itunes vouchers from a competition I entered ages ago on Capital radio's website! Went to pick it up today, it wasn't the ipod, which is coming in about two weeks, but a RIMMEL MAKE UP GOODY BAG that I won as well!

AHHHH :D

WOO!

And so, the dreaded Monday has passed! :) I had three hours of exams today :/ But at last, they are all over! Only one more set next week and i'm DONE and can look forward to work experience! Which I shall tell you all about sometime soon :)

And after that, a huuuuge expanse of summer! Which, I cannot wait for! :)

Yesterday was lovely. One of my favourite sort of days :) Not too hot, but lovely and sunny, and just MMM. I only took this picture, of a poppy, in my garden. But, its LILAC! Which really amazed me! So I think its just about worth its own post :P

Thanks for all the lovely comments, I'll try and get back to all you lovely lovely people! :)

Hmm...

... I have absolutely no idea what to write about today. So I'm just going to write, and see where it takes me :P

I had an exam today. VERY VERY HARD. Everything our teacher said would probably come up, and that we all spent ages revising on, didn't come up, and everything we didn't revise did. Sad, eh? But ahh well, what's done is done :P I just need to make sure I revise ALL WEEKEND for the other two that follow to make sure I get 100% in them to make up for it haha xD

On Saturday, I RAATHER fancy going shopping for some lovely new bikinis this weekend, in the midst of my revision :P

I really like the pretty frilly bikini tops! They're so pretty, so I'll have to have a little hunt... :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There, that was yesterday :) I've had some inspiration for some more bloggage overnight, so when I get home I'll have a nice time taking some pictures of some jewellery, artishly, i hope :) I really should get my own camera! I told my mum I wasn't very interested in photography, and now I just borrow her camera all the time xD

Hey, guess what I realised!? Today is my one week blogging anniversary! WOO! :)

So, pictures as promised :) I thought it would be fun to take photos of my some of my jewellery in my garden :P Strange, I know. But I think it just about works!

Topshop necklace, £12. This comes with three other necklaces, so it spells out 'once upon a time', but I thought this was rather nice on its own :)

You know when you're young, and you spend loads of time gaping over your mum's jewellery, thinking it's the most wonderful thing in the world? Well, I've been in love with this necklace all my life, and my mum never wore it, so the other day I put my foot down and decided it needed some wear. By me ;)

Photo Day

Ahh! Today was great! My lovely friend Tania and I spent the day having a little photoshoot in my garden. The clouds stayed away! YAY!

Basically, Tania used her lovely posh camera, and took LOTS of pictures of me :D Some of which, I am not even going to think about (think VERY strange expressions on my part xD ). But I'm hoping some of the others aren't quite so bad. So, enjoy :)
